Position Overview:
As an essential member of the PETRONAS Canada Payroll team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient execution of daily payroll functions. This includes accurately processing payrolls in a timely manner and adhering to regulatory requirements, while also maintaining and updating all pertinent records and documentation. As a vital contributor to our skilled team, you will act as a subject matter expert for various departments and employees, ensuring exceptional service and prompt resolution of issues.
Your Contributions:
- Manage and prepare semi-monthly payrolls for approximately 550 employees across Alberta and BC.
- Address and resolve employee inquiries regarding compensation, benefits, taxes, and deductions in a timely manner.
- Act as a subject matter expert for different departments, ensuring timely resolution of issues and enhancing payroll processes.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations and accurate assessment of taxable benefits, including year-end reporting obligations.
- Conduct audits, maintain data integrity in Workday, and oversee benefits administration.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 10 years of payroll-related experience.
- Completion of Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification.
- Proficiency in automated payroll systems, preferably Workday.
- Advanced skills in Excel, including VLOOKUP, PivotTables, SUMIFS, and INDEX-MATCH.
- Strong understanding of systems and data flow, with a willingness to learn and adapt to new processes.
- Initiative to explore system capabilities and leverage technology for process improvement.
- Ability to efficiently troubleshoot and resolve technical payroll issues.
- Proven history of innovation and process enhancement.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and time management abilities.
- Strong interpersonal skills and capacity to collaborate effectively across diverse teams.
