About the Role

The Labour Relations Specialist will play a key role in ensuring the consistent application of GardaWorld's labour relations policies and practices. This position will support the operational team in disciplinary and union-management matters, providing expert advice and guidance to employees and management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise employees, management, and operations on a wide range of labour and employee relations issues, including performance management, discipline, investigations, legal, and interpersonal issues.
  • Coordinate grievance management at all stages, minimizing organizational and financial costs, and developing good labour-management relations.
  • Analyze general labour relations issues and trends, such as systemic problems, policy, and process concerns, and recommend optimization strategies.
  • Participate in various local labour-management meetings, including professional relations committees.

Requirements

  • At least 1 to 3 years of experience in human resources, preferably in a unionized environment.
  • Post-secondary education in human resources or labour relations, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience working in a federal jurisdiction is ideal.
  • Work experience and/or basic knowledge of collective agreement management.
  • Experience in disciplinary investigations and the implementation of corrective measures (e.g. disciplinary actions).
