We are seeking a skilled Laborer to join our team at Cosmic Growers Inc. as a Farming Operations Assistant. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting in the daily operations of our farm, including crop management and maintenance.
Key Responsibilities- Cultivate and Maintain Crops: Assist in planting, cultivating, and irrigating crops, including microgreens.
- Harvest and Process Produce: Help with hand harvesting, grading, and packing of fruits and vegetables.
- Facility Maintenance: Assist with cleaning and maintaining the greenhouse and surrounding areas.
- Load and Unload Supplies: Load, unload, and transfer crates, supplies, and farm produce.
- Quality Control: Examine products for quality and readiness for market.
- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
- Experience: 1 to less than 7 months of experience in a related field.
- Physical Demands: Ability to work independently, handle heavy loads, and work in a physically demanding environment.
- Weight Handling: Up to 9 kg (20 lbs).
- Tools and Equipment: Gloves and steel-toed safety boots.
- We offer support for immediate settlement needs, including housing, transportation, and storage.
- We provide assistance with social and labor market integration, including language training and skills training.
- This role does not require Canadian work experience.
- We offer on-the-job training tailored to youth.
- Work Term: Permanent.
- Work Language: English.
- Hours: 30 hours per week.
