About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Professional Practice Leader to join our team at Nova Scotia Health. The successful candidate will be responsible for facilitating and advancing excellence in quality person-centered care and practice through the integration of various services aimed at supporting and enhancing professional practice.

The Professional Practice Leader will work closely with the Access and Flow network, other provincial networks and programs, and zonal operations teams to support a variety of initiatives and programs in acute and community settings. This role will also involve working closely with operations teams to improve processes and timely access for patients to care by the right provider.

The ideal candidate will have a Master's level education in a health profession relevant to interprofessional practice and learning, as well as active practicing licensure and in good standing or eligible for licensure as a health professional in Nova Scotia. A minimum of five years of clinical experience in a related health professional discipline with operational or practice leadership experience is required, as well as a minimum of three years of progressive leadership experience.

The successful candidate will have experience in planning and delivering competency-based education and clinical learning programs within a complex, integrated service model in collaboration with multiple partners and stakeholders. They will also have expert knowledge to critically analyze evidence-based practices to inform innovative, flexible, and responsive learning and educational programming and quality improvement initiatives.

About You
  • Health profession education at Master's level or higher relevant to interprofessional practice and learning required
  • Active practicing licensure and in good standing or eligible for licensure as a health professional in Nova Scotia
  • Minimum of five (5) years clinical experience in related health professional discipline with operational or practice leadership experience
  • Minimum of three (3) years progressive leadership experience such as, clinical nurse specialist, Nurse Practitioner, clinical educator or professional practice coordinator
  • Experience in planning and delivering competency-based education and clinical learning programs within a complex, integrated service model in collaboration with multiple partners and stakeholders
  • Expert knowledge to critically analyze evidence-based practices to inform innovative, flexible and responsive learning and educational programming and quality improvement initiatives
  • Knowledge of relevant legislative and regulatory frameworks applicable to the practice of health professions
  • Experience in engaging, mentoring, developing and empowering teams and stakeholders in a collaborative, participative manner to respond to the mission, vision, goals and objectives an organization
  • Experience in initiating, leading and managing organizational change, and complex work
  • Excellent analytical and decision-making skills with ability to interpret program evaluation data to inform quality and performance indicators and benchmarks.
  • Skills and experience in promoting learning cultures that nurture equity, diversity and inclusivity with a focus on intersectional values, analysis, and actions, clinical humility, and the responsible use of power and privilege
  • Experience in human resource management related to scope of practice, scope of employment, and within the legislative framework for health professionals
  • Experience in innovative curriculum development and design
Hours

Permanent Full-Time: 75 hours Bi-weekly.

Compensation and Benefits

$45.45 - $60.39 hourly
$88,629 - $117,761 annually
