The Professional Practice Coordinator will work collaboratively with interprofessional teams to create an environment for optimal person-centered care. This role requires expertise in professional practice, consulting, research, facilitation, change management, and leadership. The successful candidate will foster a culture of learning, build capacity, and support safe practice. They will develop, plan, execute, and evaluate learning experiences for staff within the program and across Nova Scotia Health.

About the Team

The Interprofessional Practice and Learning team facilitates and advances person-centered care through evidence-based professional practice and learning strategies. They take a leadership role in creating a culture of collaboration, focusing on team-based care, evidence-informed practice, and learning and professional development to improve health outcomes for patients, families, and communities.

About the Opportunity

The Violence Prevention, Intervention, and Response Program focuses on trauma-informed, person-centered evidence-informed care required at various points of entry to health services by individuals and families with experiences of interpersonal violence. This program serves individuals aged 13 years and over who have experienced violence, including sexual assault, domestic violence, or other forms of violence and at a high level of risk for reoccurrence and/or lethality.

About You

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional with a Master of Social Work degree, licensure and membership in good standing with the Nova Scotia College of Social Workers, and three years of clinical experience as a Social Worker. The ideal candidate will have two years of clinical experience with related leadership skills working in the area of domestic/intimate partner violence, sexual violence, and gender-based violence. They will also have demonstrated knowledge, experience, and skill in adult learning theories, principles, and best practices in education, as well as previous competency-based teaching experience to healthcare clinicians.

Nova Scotia Health offers a competitive salary range of $51.73 hourly to $100.867 annually, depending on experience. The successful candidate may also be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
