Our team of professionals provides a variety of high-quality inpatient and outpatient services, including academic, tertiary, and quaternary care, as well as continuing care, primary health care, public health, and mental health and addictions.
The Interprofessional Practice and Learning team facilitates and advances person-centered care through evidence-based professional practice and learning strategies. The team takes a leadership role in creating a culture of collaboration with a focus on team-based care, evidence-informed practice, and learning and professional development to improve health outcomes for patients, families, and communities.
About the OpportunityThe Violence Prevention, Intervention, and Response Program focuses on trauma-informed, person-centered evidence-informed care required at various points of entry to health services by individuals and families with experiences of interpersonal violence. This program serves individuals aged 13 years and over who have experienced violence, including sexual assault, domestic violence, or other forms of violence and at a high level of risk for reoccurrence and/or lethality.
Key Responsibilities- Work collaboratively with members of discipline-specific and interprofessional teams to create an environment for optimal person-centered care.
- Demonstrate expertise in discipline and competency as a consultant, researcher, facilitator, change agent, and leader.
- Foster a culture of learning to build capacity and support safe practice.
- Develop, plan, execute, and evaluate learning experiences for staff within the program and across NSH.
- Develop and implement transition to practice programs and ongoing practice at the point of care and professional development that integrates a learner-centered approach.
- Master of Social Work required.
- Licensure and membership in good standing with the Nova Scotia College of Social Workers required.
- Three (3) years clinical experience as a Social Worker required.
- Two (2) years clinical experience with related leadership skills working in the area of domestic/intimate partner violence, sexual violence, and gender-based violence required.
- BLS for Health Care Providers certification required.
- Demonstrated knowledge, experience, and skill in adult learning theories, principles, and best practices in education required.
- Previous competency-based teaching experience to health care clinicians required.
- Certificate course in Adult Education (or equivalency) preferred.
- Leadership development course or equivalent is an asset.
Permanent, Full-Time (75 hours bi-weekly)
$51.73 hourly
