Job Title: Network Support Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled Network Support Technician to join our team at 1823847 ALBERTA LTD. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and administering our local area networks, wide area networks, mainframe networks, and computer workstations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and troubleshoot local area networks, wide area networks, mainframe networks, and computer workstations
  • Evaluate and install computer hardware, networking software, and operating system software
  • Provide problem-solving services to network users
  • Implement data, software, and hardware security procedures
  • Perform routine network start-up and close-down and maintain control records
  • Perform data backups and disaster recovery operations
  • Set up local area networks and connections to the Internet
  • Implement network traffic and security monitoring software and optimize server performance
  • Modify Web pages, applets, and scripts
  • Research and apply meta-data to Websites and register Websites with search engines
  • Respond to requests for help and information from Website visitors and Website designers
  • Perform Web-server backup and recovery operations
  • Supervise technical staff
Requirements:
  • 1-2 years of experience in network administration
  • College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Basic security clearance
  • Willingness to travel
