Vice President, Legal Affairs and Risk Management

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Vice President, Legal Affairs and Risk Management to join our team at Princeton Holdings. As a key member of our Executive Leadership Team, you will be responsible for providing strategic legal and risk management advice to our company and its subsidiaries, including Cowan Insurance Group.
Key Responsibilities- Provide legal advice and guidance on a wide range of matters, including corporate governance, contracts, and regulatory compliance.
- Develop and implement risk management strategies to mitigate potential risks and ensure the company's compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Collaborate with senior management and other stakeholders to identify and address potential risks and opportunities.
- Manage and oversee the company's legal and compliance functions, including the development and implementation of policies and procedures.
- Provide training and guidance to employees on legal and compliance matters.
- Represent the company in legal and regulatory matters, including negotiations and disputes.
- Call to the Bar in Ontario.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant legal work experience (law firm or in-house).
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills with experience simplifying and resolving complex problems.
- Highly focused with attention to detail and ability to collaborate well with others.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a practical solution-oriented approach.
- Demonstrated superior skill in legal drafting, including agreements and contracts.
- Superior organizational and time management skills with experience handling multiple priorities and requests.
