Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Eddy Current Testing (ECT) Trainee to join our team at BWX Technologies, Inc.

The successful candidate will assist senior ECT technicians in performing routine technical assignments, including mock-up maintenance, general tool assortment, and inventory management.

As a Trainee, you will participate in site execution of outage and inspection projects, general NDE-related tasks, and support senior techs on pre-deployment activities.

You will be responsible for accurately completing inspection forms, logs, records, and check sheets, as well as assisting with review of equipment prior to site deployment.

The ideal candidate will have a Technician/Technologist diploma in an electrical, mechanical, or NDE discipline, or equivalent related experience.

Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to recognize and resolve conflict are essential for this role.

The base salary range for this position is expected to be between $48,000 and $68,000 per year, with additional compensation elements including an annual cash incentive and a full range of medical, retirement, and other benefits.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist senior ECT technicians in performing routine technical assignments
  • Participate in site execution of outage and inspection projects
  • General NDE-related tasks
  • Support senior techs on pre-deployment activities
  • Accurately complete inspection forms, logs, records, and check sheets
  • Assist with review of equipment prior to site deployment
  • Prepare equipment or hardware for operation
  • Execute parts of field tests with guidance from ET Level I or II employees
  • Adhere to all quality and safety standards and demonstrate a strong focus on customer satisfaction

Requirements:

  • Technician/Technologist diploma in an electrical, mechanical, or NDE discipline, or equivalent related experience
  • Level I NDT Technician with ECT certificate in progress
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to recognize and resolve conflict
