JOB OBJECTIVES

The Sales Insights Manager (SIM) is a pivotal and proactive role that merges commercial insight with analytical prowess. The SIM will be tasked with creating solid analytical frameworks to guarantee data precision from point-of-sale systems and for generating extensive reports that enable marketing and key account managers to conduct their own evaluations. This professional must possess a thorough understanding of the Grocery/CPG Canadian market, including its primary performance indicators, and be adept at effectively communicating these insights.

The SIM will utilize advanced analytical tools and methodologies, such as SQL, Python, MS Fabric, and Power BI, to enhance data integrity and deliver actionable insights that foster revenue growth and brand enhancement across various retail channels. Responsibilities include developing reports, queries, lakehouses, and overseeing report accessibility. Furthermore, the SIM will devise and execute a guidance and professional development strategy for the analytics team that aligns with the vision and strategic goals of the department and organization, aspiring to position I-D Foods as a benchmark in the Canadian market as an Analytics-Driven Distributor. This will encompass defining essential tools and their implementation plans.

For a sales-focused individual with ambition, drive, and professional finesse, this represents an exceptional opportunity for a business-oriented person to grasp the framework and key business processes that facilitate growth across the I-D Foods portfolio.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS

Lead the analytics team in accordance with the vision and priorities of the department Collect and analyze customer data from retailer platforms as well as from syndicated sources to provide comprehensive insights on current retailer, market, brand, and category performance Construct, maintain, and disseminate customer sales reports and other ad hoc reports promptly Conduct post-analysis on significant themed events Identify by retailer, category, and brand, 4P gaps and opportunities to address those gaps Provide guidance on 4P NPD positioning by retailer and category to maximize return on investment Assist with customer and supplier business reviews and presentations Support, engage, and present sales and market data to key strategic retailers Utilize sales trends/customer POS performance to refine sales forecasts/projections Develop internal dashboards that effectively communicate brand and sales outcomes Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to capture requirements, ingest, and make data accessible in our Lakehouse. Manage the Mintec platform to derive commodity price insights, aiding manufacturers and marketing teams on pricing.

ACADEMIC TRAINING

University or College graduate in Business, Marketing, or equivalent work experience

EXPERIENCE

5+ years of experience in a Sales analyst or business-related capacity. 3+ years of experience utilizing Power BI. Strong DAX skills for writing complex KPI calculations, understanding of data modeling and Power Query ETL. 2+ years of experience with Figma and UX concepts. 1 to 2 years of experience with SQL and PySpark, capable of building advanced queries and transforming data. 3+ years of experience with major grocery retail gateways (LDIA, Circana, Retail Link, 1Screen, and Dunnhymby), including flat file manipulation. Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric or similar platforms (Data Bricks or Snowflake), building Lakehouse/DW, pipelines, notebooks, and Dataflow Gen2. Previous experience with the Medallion Architecture is advantageous. Experience in constructing S&OP reports and supporting KPI development is a plus. Results-driven with a strong sense of urgency. Self-motivated with the ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities. Advanced computer skills: Microsoft Office (i.e., Excel, PowerPoint & Access). Strong relationship-building skills for successful collaboration with cross-functional departments. Excellent communication abilities. Well-organized with a keen attention to detail. Superior oral and written communication skills. Capable of working independently or as part of a team. Some national and international travel may be required.
