About the Role

The Culinary Service Associate plays a vital role in the food service operations within a healthcare environment. Reporting to the Food Service Supervisor, this position involves preparing and delivering meals to patients, residents, and staff while ensuring a high standard of cleanliness and food safety.

Key Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the Culinary Service Associate include, but are not limited to:

  • Patient Interaction: Engaging with patients to take meal orders and ensuring their dietary preferences are met.
  • Meal Preparation: Assembling and serving meals, including special dietary items, while adhering to safety and sanitation protocols.
  • Food Handling: Participating in the receiving and storage of food supplies, ensuring compliance with food safety standards.
  • Sanitation Duties: Cleaning and sanitizing kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas to maintain a safe environment.
Qualifications

To be considered for this position, applicants should possess:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in a food service environment is an asset.
  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to demonstrate respect and civility.
  • Physical capability to perform tasks that include standing, lifting, and transporting food items.
