Position Overview: The Lester B. Pearson School Board is seeking dedicated individuals to fill the role of student monitors within our lunch program. This position requires approximately one hour of work each day, with the schedule varying by school.

Work Schedule: Candidates will be expected to work during the school's lunch hour, which is approximately ONE HOUR per day, depending on the specific school schedule.

Availability Requirements: Applicants must be available to supervise students during lunchtime.

Work Locations: Positions are available in various areas including Lachine, LaSalle, Verdun, West Island, and Off Island.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Supervise students within the school premises to ensure adherence to established discipline policies.
  • Maintain a safe environment for all students.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues and contribute positively to a team atmosphere.
  • Oversee groups of 20-25 students, ensuring their well-being and engagement.
  • Utilize strong observation skills to identify and address student needs.
  • Engage proactively with students during both indoor and outdoor supervision activities.

Qualifications:

Candidates should possess the following:

  • A Secondary School Diploma or an equivalent qualification recognized by the relevant authority.
  • A minimum of one (1) year of relevant experience demonstrating self-discipline and strong interpersonal skills.
  • A valid certificate confirming the successful completion of a standard first aid course (minimum eight hours) or a refresher course (minimum six hours) completed within the last three years.
