The Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at the University of British Columbia is on the lookout for a committed Research Associate to become an integral part of our research team. The successful candidate will take charge of guiding a group of researchers, overseeing Biomass/Bioenergy research and development initiatives, nurturing strategic partnerships, and providing mentorship to students.
The Research Associate will work closely with a variety of stakeholders to improve our research funding prospects and contribute to the overarching strategic goals of our Biomass/Bioenergy initiatives.
- Lead a team of researchers by offering both technical and scientific direction.
- Prepare and present comprehensive reports for research sponsors and stakeholders.
- Oversee and advance Biomass/Bioenergy research and development programs in collaboration with external partners.
- Formulate and execute a strategic vision for the Biomass/Bioenergy sector.
- Build and maintain relationships with national and international laboratories, corporations, and academic institutions.
- Guide and instruct undergraduate and graduate students in research methodologies and experimental procedures.
- Ph.D. in applied science or engineering.
- A minimum of 3 years of research experience in biomass management and preprocessing.
