About the Role

The Field Quality Assurance Specialist will play a critical role in providing quality leadership and insight to the projects group at Rising Edge Group. Reporting to the Quality Manager, this position is focused on ensuring that all inspection and test requirements for facilities are performed in accordance with regulatory and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform all aspects of inspection and audit activities with minimal supervision, ensuring compliance with regulatory and customer requirements.
  • Implement and maintain Quality Control Systems and processes, ensuring adherence to industry standards and best practices.
  • Review and understand contracts, scopes of work, and engineered drawings to ensure accurate interpretation and implementation.
  • Determine client requirements and develop quality plans to ensure effective communication with relevant parties.
  • Monitor project quality and ensure that requirements are being met, identifying and addressing any deviations or non-conformities.
  • Interact with client representatives and project teams to resolve quality-related issues and concerns.
  • Collaborate with customers' QC inspectors to resolve site problems and ensure timely resolution.
  • Assist in non-conformance and corrective action investigation and reporting, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
  • Promote the ideals of quality policy, continual improvement, and the importance of quality throughout the organization.
  • Assist in maintaining the field quality library, ensuring accurate and up-to-date documentation.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of substation experience.
  • Electrical Engineering Technologist or Journeyman in electrical is required.
  • Protection and Control experience is an asset.
  • Ability to read and understand construction and electrical drawings.
  • Knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code is an asset.
  • Knowledge of the Utility Code is an asset.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001 or other quality management systems is an asset.
  • ISO 9001 auditor training is an asset.
  • Project Document Management is an asset.
  • Experience in the High Voltage Industry is a definite asset.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Microsoft Office skills with an emphasis in Excel is a definite asset.
  • Bluebeam Software skills is an asset.
  • Valid Driver's license with an acceptable driving record is required.
