We are seeking a highly skilled Mine Planning Engineer to join our team at the Ministry of Mines. As a key member of our Mine Rehabilitation Section, you will play a critical role in ensuring that Ontario mines are properly rehabilitated to meet public health, safety, and environmental standards.
Key Responsibilities:- Review and analyze engineering designs and prepare documents, reports, and data for sites
- Design, conduct, and/or coordinate surveys and engineering/technical investigations
- Coordinate compliance audits and action plans for mine closures
- Provide professional technical advice and training to staff
- Professional Engineer, licensed with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO)
- Specialized knowledge in mining, civil, chemical, or environmental engineering
- Knowledge and experience in mine rehabilitation, including the Mining Act and Environmental Protection Act
- Related experience in pollution control, mine rehabilitation theories, and practices
- Technical expertise to identify sources of water, air, and solid pollutants from complex mine closure projects
