Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineering Specialist to join our team at Waterford Executive. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing assembly processes from scratch, as well as identifying and resolving manufacturing and quality issues.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop assembly processes from scratch, including layout, process flow, cycle time charts, weld map, datum scheme, PFMEA, and ergonomic assessment.
  • Identify potential manufacturing and quality issues during the design phase and develop robust product and process solutions to minimize impact to the company and customer.
  • Conduct manpower efficiency studies and prepare reports, charts, and other documentation required for engineering projects.
  • Work with all departments and customers to design solutions that improve production efficiency, ergonomics, safety, and maintenance-related issues.
  • Assist in developing material handling logistics, reviewing and coordinating tooling design, build, and capital budgets, and setting up preventative maintenance programs for new equipment.
  • Review, monitor, and coordinate custom packaging design, build, approval process, and capital budgets, and assist in resolving quality concerns.
  • Interface with production departments, customers, and vendors to design packaging solutions and review, monitor, and coordinate all required actions to resolve quality and safety concerns related to packaging.
Requirements:
  • Engineering degree or diploma in mechanical manufacturing or industrial engineering.
  • Minimum five to eight years of related experience within an automotive manufacturing industry.
  • Experience in managing assembly line design, build, and fabrication.
  • Able to read and interpret GD&T, CAD drawings, and experience with AutoCAD.
  • Knowledge of stamping, forming, and hydroforming processes.
  • Proven project management skills and great communication skills and presentation skills for customer interface.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and willingness to support daily and weekend overtime requirements to meet customer needs.
  • Flexible to travel within North America as well as overseas.
