Role Overview

The Clinical Practice Coordinator is accountable to the corporate clerical manager of the Diagnostic Imaging Department. This position necessitates extensive collaboration with radiologists, nuclear medicine specialists, and referring healthcare providers, employing a team-oriented approach to enhance imaging services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement suitable protocols within the approved delegated act procedures.
  • Manage CT referrals according to established delegated acts utilizing order sets for CT.
  • Play a crucial role in ensuring proper patient preparation for imaging examinations.
  • Leverage clinical expertise and leadership to enhance access and quality of care.
  • Provide professional support to fellow healthcare professionals and actively participate in interdisciplinary teams within the Diagnostic Imaging Department and inpatient programs.
  • Collaborate effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and physicians.
  • Strive to improve productivity, enhance patient access to radiologic services, and elevate the overall quality of patient care in diagnostic imaging.
  • Ensure efficient patient flow and care, including triaging medical imaging pathways for Emergency Department patients and inpatients.
  • Serve as the initial liaison with community physicians to offer support and determine the need for consultations with radiologists or nuclear medicine specialists.
  • Work alongside inpatient programs and team members to address issues, triage, schedule referrals, and expedite patient transportation.

Required Qualifications:

  • A professional designation in one of the imaging professions is mandatory.
  • Experience in CT is preferred.
  • A minimum of five years of recent relevant clinical experience in diagnostic imaging is required.
  • Proven ability to implement and assess planned changes.
  • Capability to identify specific practice areas and evaluate departmental needs.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and coach others.
  • Ability to work independently and interact effectively with other professionals in complex, dynamic environments.
  • Demonstrated clinical leadership, advanced judgment, and a high level of knowledge, skills, and professional autonomy.
  • Must possess strong documentation skills with attention to detail.
  • Willingness to travel and work across all Osler locations as required.
  • Excellent attendance and punctuality are essential.
  • MRI experience is considered an asset.
