About the Position

The Executive Director provides visionary leadership and oversees all operations of the legal and social work clinic. Key responsibilities include:

  • Implementing strategic planning processes to achieve organizational goals
  • Identifying required resources and assessing community needs
  • Building positive relationships with clinic teams, law faculty, community partners, the Board of Directors, and Legal Aid Ontario
  • Supervising and directing all staff to ensure effective service delivery
  • Evaluating potential opportunities and risks related to the clinic's work and finances
  • Representing the clinic to the community and media
Requirements

The successful candidate will possess:

  • A strong background in law or social work, with a minimum of five years of experience working with high-needs/vulnerable populations
  • Proven experience in managing employees, guiding teams, and supervising volunteers or students
  • Experience overseeing office operations, including financial affairs
  • Excellent organizational skills and a collaborative approach to social and legal work
  • A working literacy of computers and software, including programs like Microsoft Office and Legal Aid Ontario
