Position: Security Guard
Status: Full-Time
Schedule: Monday to Friday
Compensation: $19.38/hour
Job Overview:
As a Security Guard, you will play a vital role in maintaining a safe and secure environment. Your responsibilities will include:
- Monitoring and reporting any incidents of unlawful activity, suspicious behavior, or unsafe conditions.
- Managing access control by unlocking and securing doors and offices.
- Providing a visible security presence in various areas while delivering excellent customer service.
- Preventing and addressing prohibited behaviors such as loitering and unauthorized activities.
- Ensuring that all buildings are properly secured after hours.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Conduct proactive patrols and address any policy violations or facility concerns.
- Document detailed incident reports for all emergency situations and daily operations.
- Respond promptly to security alarms and emergencies, maintaining a calm demeanor.
- Control and authorize the entry and exit of employees, visitors, and other individuals.
- De-escalate crises and coordinate with emergency services as needed.
- Manage Lost & Found inquiries and items.
- Report unsafe conditions across all departments.
- Provide first aid and medical assistance when necessary.
- Conduct interior and exterior patrols regularly.
Qualifications:
- Possession of a valid Ontario Security Guard License.
- Current First Aid and CPR Level C certification.
- Valid Covid-19 Vaccination Certificate.
- Ability to obtain Federal Reliability Clearance, including a clean vulnerable sector check and credit inquiry.
- Residency in Canada for the past five years with Permanent Resident or Citizenship status.
- Certification in Use of Force (UoF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) is required; training options are available for those without these certifications.
