About This Opportunity

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Operations Manager to further develop and optimize a large supply chain operation. Reporting to the General Manager, the Distribution Center Manager (DCM) will support the facility located in a major urban center. The DCM will support and direct the daily operations by managing 5+ direct reports and 65 indirect reports. Direct reports include the Warehouse Supervisors and Distribution Supervisors. Other responsibilities and opportunities include working with union leadership to develop short and long term strategies, as well as participating in discussions on innovations and operational optimization opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead all logistics activities to ensure efficient delivery, fleet, technical service and warehouse operations.
  • Full P&L responsibility to achieve OPEX budgets.
  • Maintain complex relationships, requiring the development of relationships while adhering to our policies and practices.
  • Build a high performing team with a strong foundation of integrity, accountability and corporate messaging.
  • Identify, plan and lead the execution of optimization initiatives in collaboration with key stakeholders, suppliers and senior management.
  • Ensure that all regulatory compliance standards and facility policies are communicated and adhered to (CNESST safety standards) and ensure its promotion and team engagement.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required.
  • 5+ years of experience required.
  • Several years of management experience in a large unionized company preferred.
  • Strong business acumen and presentation skills to multiple audiences, from front-line staff to senior and executive management.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory compliance and NESTC standards, and experience tracking and reporting on key performance indicators.
  • Previous experience with SAP is an asset.
  • Experience and proficiency with Excel.
