Cora Restaurants is a leading Canadian breakfast chain with over 125 locations across the country. We are seeking a highly skilled Paralegal to join our team in a key role that combines business and legal expertise.

The successful candidate will report to the VP Business Development, Purchasing and Legal Affairs and will be responsible for various administrative tasks, including drafting and reviewing legal documents, managing contracts, and maintaining the company's database of contracts and legal documents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare corporate documents and maintain the corporate books of various companies;
  • Draft, edit, review, and update legal documents, including franchise agreements, confidentiality agreements, commercial contracts, letters, and reports;
  • Follow up on tasks related to files, including compliance with deadlines and legal requirements;
  • Manage and track renewals, transfers, and leases;
  • Manage and maintain the company's database of contracts and legal documents;
  • Maintain the trademark portfolio;
  • Search public registers, including the REGISTRE DES ENTREPRISES DU QUéBEC (REQ), the REGISTRE DES PARTENAIRES COMMERCIAUX DU QUéBEC (RDPRM), and the land registry;
  • Provide administrative and legal support in various files;
  • Other related tasks.

Requirements:

  • College diploma in legal technique;
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience;
  • Good knowledge of corporate, business, and real estate law;
  • Excellent command of English and French, both oral and written;
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 suite software;
  • Knowledge of the restaurant and/or franchise industry (asset);
