BioVectra Inc. is a leading bio-science business focused on contract manufacturing and product development of active pharmaceutical ingredients, pharmaceutical intermediates, and bioreagents.
We have an opening for a Process Development Scientist, Analytical Services. This is a permanent full-time position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with a dynamic team to provide timely and accurate analytical support for process development projects.
- Develop and implement modern bioanalytical methodologies for the analysis of biologics using techniques such as CE-SDS, UV-VIS, cIEF, SDS-PAGE, ELISA, qPCR, MS, Western blot, and HPLC.
- Conduct literature searches to evaluate modern analytical methods and patents.
- Work with fellow scientists, technicians, and students to develop analytical methods, and occasionally supervise and train others in their execution.
- Write research and development test methods, procedures, protocols, and analytical development reports.
- Transfer technology to technical staff in both the Process Development and Quality groups.
- Maintain accurate, real-time records of all laboratory activities.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the department supervisor based on business needs.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Molecular Biology, Bioinformatics, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Chemistry, or a related field.
- MSc or PhD considered an asset.
- Previous experience with quality by design (QbD) and design of experiments (DoE) methodologies is considered an asset.
- Technical proficiency with laboratory instrumentation and techniques for the analysis of pDNA and mRNA is considered an asset.
- Experience with analytical chromatography software is considered an asset.
