The Position

We are seeking a full-time Finance Operations Manager to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will serve as a trusted intermediary between partners and clients, reviewing financial documentation, providing expert guidance, and leading complex projects. This role reports directly to the partners while also offering the chance to mentor junior and intermediate accountants.

This position is perfect for someone who values exceptional client service and enjoys collaborating with partners to support a diverse client base. A strong sense of accountability and initiative is essential for success in this fast-paced professional services environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Overseeing the preparation of financial statements for business clients, reviewing the work of junior accountants, and managing complex aspects of client files;
  • Ensuring high-quality standards by supervising Compilation and Review Engagements;
  • Reviewing Corporate, Personal, and Trust income tax returns and other related tax documents;
  • Investigating and rectifying discrepancies in financial entries and reports;
  • Providing recommendations based on analysis of reserves, assets, and expenditures;
  • Conducting technical research and developing tax planning strategies for individuals and corporations;
  • Assisting in the execution of corporate restructuring;
  • Managing the workflow and prioritization of tasks for junior accountants, including engagement costs and billing;
  • Mentoring and supporting the professional growth of junior staff;
  • Maintaining a portfolio of clients, ensuring their needs are met and fostering strong relationships;
  • Contributing innovative ideas to enhance work processes.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field;
  • CA or CPA designation with a minimum of 5 years of public practice experience in accounting and taxation for private companies;
  • Extensive experience in compilation and review preparation;
  • Experience in leading and supervising teams.

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Strong understanding of relevant accounting frameworks and best practices in file documentation;
  • In-depth knowledge of Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises (ASPE);
  • Proficient in Caseware and Profile software;
  • Solid business acumen;
  • Strong computer skills, particularly in MS Office.
