About the Department:

The Patient Access & Public Affairs Department is dedicated to improving patient outcomes in Canada by facilitating access to transformative medications for chronic conditions such as diabetes, obesity, and rare blood and endocrine disorders. We collaborate with various stakeholders to enhance health results through advocacy, policy development, and support for underserved communities.

Position Overview:

In this role, you will craft and implement market access strategies in collaboration with both global and local teams to secure reimbursement from public and private sectors. You will engage in a range of initiatives to bolster the access strategy, including reimbursement submissions, health technology assessments (HTA), and pricing evaluations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive the formulation of market access strategies for Novo Nordisk products in conjunction with a cross-functional team.
  • Identify and analyze market access opportunities and challenges for designated brands, devising strategies to foster a supportive access environment.
  • Develop compelling payer value narratives that incorporate clinical and economic insights for payer discussions and submissions, ensuring alignment with global standards.
  • Act as a representative for Market Access on cross-functional brand launch teams, ensuring cohesive strategy alignment.
  • Coordinate with local Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) partners to execute tactics that support market access strategies.
  • Collaborate with global counterparts to ensure strategies meet the specific needs of the Canadian market.
  • Work with cross-functional partners to achieve consensus and approval for launch pricing of assigned brands.
  • Formulate pricing negotiation strategies for public and private listings.
  • Develop payer communication tools (e.g., core payer slide decks, leave-behinds, Q&A documents) for engagements with payers and HTA bodies.
  • Oversee the creation and submission of reimbursement packages, including clinical dossiers and budget impact models, tailored to jurisdictional requirements.
  • Manage external vendor relationships, including timelines, budgets, and deliverables.
  • Lead discussions with external stakeholders, including payers and HTA agencies.
  • Present findings and strategies to payers, HTA organizations, and advisory boards.
  • Stay informed on developments in the reimbursement landscape, including policies, practices, and competitor activities.

Education Requirements:

  • Master's degree in health economics, pharmacy, science, or a related field.

Preferred Professional Experience:

  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in pharmaceutical market access.
  • Experience with market access strategies for chronic disease therapies.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • In-depth understanding of the Canadian pharmaceutical payer landscape.
  • Self-starter with a proactive approach.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Working Conditions:

  • Office-based position.
  • Estimated travel requirement of 15-25 days annually.
