Job Title: Sessional Instructional Assistant, Biometrics I

We are seeking a highly qualified Sessional Instructional Assistant to support the teaching and learning environment in our Biometrics I course.

Course Information:

Course: Biometrics I

Estimated Course Enrolment: 99

Estimated Number of Positions: 1

Position Type: Marking

Estimated hours: 35 hours (total number of assigned hours is dependent on course enrolment)

Qualifications:

Minimum required is a 4-year degree in Biology with appropriate background for the course to be demonstrated. Qualifications include ability, academic qualifications. Suitability for the position and appropriate background in the subject/specialty within the Department of Biology will be taken into consideration. Demonstrated experience with data analysis using R required.

Duties:

Typical duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Preparing tests/labs/exams
  • Attending meetings with supervisor
  • Setting up laboratory materials
  • Demonstrating in lab/seminar
  • Demonstrating equipment
  • Consulting with students
  • Marking quizzes/tests/oral presentations
  • Marking exams
  • Invigilating
Rate of Pay:

$52.26 per hour excluding vacation pay. Please note that should rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail

This job is posted in accordance with the CUPE 3902 Unit 3 Collective Agreement.

Preference in hiring is given to qualified individuals advanced to the rank of Sessional Lecturer II or Sessional Lecturer III in accordance with Article 14:12 of the CUPE 3902 Unit 3 collective agreement.

Please note: Undergraduate or graduate students and postdoctoral fellows of the University of Toronto are covered by the CUPE 3902 Unit 1 collective agreement rather than the Unit 3 collective agreement, and should not apply for positions posted under the Unit 3 collective agreement.
