IT Business Analyst

Spark Power Corp, a reputable partner in the energy sector across North America, is seeking an IT Business Analyst to enhance our operational team. This role is pivotal in collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders to provide high-quality, scalable solutions in software applications and business processes. The individual will work closely with various teams to optimize applications and processes that align with the strategic goals of Spark Power. The successful candidate will contribute to maintaining and developing a suite of applications and integrations that support the organization’s objectives. Key responsibilities include:

Key Responsibilities of the IT Business Analyst:

Lead the gathering and translation of business needs into comprehensive system and technical specifications. Facilitate progress on projects of small to medium scale. Comprehend and contribute to the overall architecture required for application improvements. Build and nurture relationships across the organization; regularly collaborate with various departments and operational teams to deliver value and ensure transparency. Serve as a vital resource throughout different phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Project Life Cycle. Maintain objectivity in personal work to ensure solutions are aligned with business goals. Assist in resolving assigned tickets and application-related challenges promptly. Escalate any issues and concerns to IT management and/or business process owners as necessary. Make informed, data-driven decisions and recommendations. Create and maintain documentation as required.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

Bachelor’s or postgraduate degree in a business or STEM field. Additional certifications indicating a commitment to continuous learning are advantageous. At least 5 years of experience in an Implementation consulting or Business Analyst role. Proven ability to effectively interpret and refine business requirements. Familiarity with NetSuite or other ERP systems such as Oracle Cloud ERP, JDE, SAP S/4HANA is highly desirable. Strong understanding of change management principles is a plus. Experience in delivering business solutions within an agile framework is beneficial. Proficient in analyzing data, queries, and reports to support root cause analysis of issues. Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality outcomes. Ability to manage deliverables across multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Self-driven with a high level of initiative, accountability, and a desire to learn. Proficient in Microsoft Office, Visio, and Wireframing Tools.
