Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Assistant Camp Manager to join our team on a rotational basis for projects across Canada. As a key member of our camp operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our camps, providing exceptional support to our clients, and contributing to the overall success of our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Camp Operations: Assist the Camp Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the camp, including facilities maintenance, mechanical operations, and camp logistics.
  • Team Support: Provide hands-on support to the Camp Manager and other team members as needed, ensuring the effective execution of camp operations.
  • Facilities Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks, including repairs and upkeep of camp facilities, equipment, and vehicles.
  • Logistics and Supply Chain Management: Assist in managing the camp's inventory, supplies, and equipment, ensuring timely delivery and effective use of resources.
  • Communication and Reporting: Maintain open communication with the Camp Manager, team members, and clients, providing regular updates and reports on camp operations and performance.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: 2 years of experience as an Assistant Camp Manager or Labourer in remote settings, with a strong background in carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical operations.
  • Certifications and Licenses: Level 1 First Aid Certification or equivalent 2-day course, PAL license (for wildlife monitoring), and a valid Driver's License.
  • Skills and Abilities: Proficient computer skills, MS Office programs (Word, Outlook, Excel, Office 365), organizational and problem-solving abilities, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and a positive attitude.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous Experience: Previous experience working in a remote camp setting, with diesel generators, off-road vehicles, and chainsaws.
  • Trades Experience: Trades experience, such as carpentry, electrical, plumbing, or mechanical, is a definite asset.
