Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage collections for customer accounts across B2B, B2C, and other segments in North America, including portal accounts.
  • Engage with customers regarding overdue invoices and short payments for assigned portfolios.
  • Generate reports from customer portals and reconcile them with aging reports.
  • Release credit-blocked orders based on the credit status of customer accounts.
  • Initiate correspondence with customers regarding outstanding credits.
  • Effectively communicate with both internal and external customers.
  • Utilize collection software, primarily Get Paid.
  • Analyze new and existing accounts to evaluate credit risk; approve and establish limits and payment terms in line with credit policies and authorization levels.
  • Resolve customer disputes in collaboration with the sales department and customer service.
  • Participate in and recommend initiatives for continuous process improvement.
  • Make recommendations for write-offs, bad debts, and outside collections to the Credit Manager.
  • Perform other related duties as required or assigned.

Education & Certifications:

  • University degree or college diploma.
  • Preferred enrollment in a credit & collections professional designation from the Institute of Credit Canada or any other recognized professional institutes in North America.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in credit and collections within a multi-business unit environment.
  • Strong knowledge of credit and collections principles, processes, regulations, and standards.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as IFS, JD Edwards, and D365.
  • Familiarity with portal accounts.
  • Experience with Get Paid and Avalara (US Tax).
  • General accounting knowledge, particularly regarding working capital and its effect on cash flow.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret commercial reports and data.
  • Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Power BI.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Proactive and self-motivated approach.
  • Ability to make informed credit and collection recommendations regarding customer risk in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented with strong follow-up capabilities.
