Role Overview

The Information Security Manager will play a pivotal role in safeguarding the organization's information assets and ensuring compliance with relevant security standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and uphold comprehensive Information and Cyber Security Governance documentation, which includes Policies, Standards, and Procedures/Guidelines.
  • Facilitate the identification, management, and reporting of cyber risks across the organization.
  • Conduct annual risk evaluations to pinpoint any new or modified critical assets.
  • Prepare and present reports detailing the organization's cyber risk landscape to the Cross-functional Risk Committee.
  • Foster a robust culture of cyber risk awareness and information security throughout the organization.
  • Execute annual assessments of Information Security and Control for all vendors in alignment with the Outsourcing Policy.
  • Analyze hardware and software to detect any service or solution deficiencies.
  • Ensure that identified deficiencies are addressed and verify the effectiveness of remediation efforts through appropriate testing.
  • Establish and nurture effective collaborations with various stakeholders within the organization.
  • Design, implement, and promote a self-assessment framework that integrates risk and control evaluations into daily operations.
  • Support vendor management in the successful execution of the Annual IT Inherent Risk Assessment, adapting processes as necessary for any changes in certification requirements.
  • Contribute to the discovery and integration of cutting-edge tools and technologies to enhance risk and control assessment services.
  • Escalate significant cyber-related concerns and any instances of non-compliance or unethical conduct.

Qualifications

  • A university degree or college diploma in a technology-related field.
  • Relevant professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, CCSP, etc.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in risk management, audits, and processes related to Information/Cyber Security and IT.
  • At least 5 years of substantial management experience within a complex organizational structure.
  • Proven experience in designing and executing security programs with an emphasis on governance, cybersecurity, monitoring, and vulnerability management.
  • In-depth knowledge of various Information and Cyber Security standards and frameworks, including NIST CSF, ISO 27001/2, CSA, PCI DSS, and COBIT.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements applicable to Canadian financial institutions.
  • Exceptional communication skills to articulate risks and associated trade-offs effectively.
  • Excellent relationship management, consulting, problem-solving, and report writing capabilities.
  • Adaptability to shifting priorities and timelines.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary for business needs.
