This is a key leadership role that will play a critical part in shaping the university's talent management strategy and ensuring that we have the skills and leadership capabilities to achieve our strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement talent management strategies and initiatives to drive business growth and success.
- Lead and promote Talent Management initiatives and programs at the University, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.
- Manage the Talent Management team, including coaching and mentoring staff to achieve their full potential.
- Develop and maintain trustworthy, productive, problem-solving working relationships with colleagues and staff, promoting a culture of collaboration and respect.
- Represent Talent Management in meetings and presentations as required with Senior and/or Executive leaders, providing expert advice and guidance.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as Human Resources, Business Administration, or Organizational Development.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of progressively senior experience in all areas of talent management, including recruitment, employee development, and succession planning.
- ~3+ years of management/leadership experience within Human Resources, leading a talent management team and driving business results.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
- Experience in Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Accessibility is considered an asset, as is a strong understanding of the importance of creating a diverse and inclusive work environment.
- Strong analytical and interpretive skills, with the ability to collect and analyze data, identify trends, and make informed decisions.
- CPHR (Chartered Professionals in Human Resources) designation is an asset, as is a strong understanding of HR best practices and regulations.
- Sound consulting and business partnering skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders and drive business outcomes.
- Ability to work independently and interact with various levels of management in a multi-tasking, deadline-oriented team environment.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and support projects and initiatives, with a strong focus on results and continuous improvement.
- Advanced level computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, learning technologies, PeopleSoft or other HRIS, with the ability to learn new systems and technologies quickly.
