We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Side Load Driver to join our team at J.S Bellis Ltd, a division of The Municipal Group of Companies.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for operating a Class 3, Side Loader Refuse vehicle in a safe and efficient manner, ensuring timely completion of assigned routes. Additionally, they will be responsible for inspecting, cleaning, and maintaining the equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive a side load tandem truck on assigned routes to fill contractual requirements
  • Perform daily pre and post trip inspections of trucks assigned
  • Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment under varying traffic and road conditions
  • Communicate with dispatchers and supervisors to receive delivery instructions and report any issues
  • Ensure a safe work environment and comply with all safety policies and procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors

Requirements:

  • Valid commercial driver's license with clear driver abstract
  • Class 3 driver's license with air brake endorsement in good standing
  • Ability to follow a firm work schedule and work in a team environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on customer service
  • Ability to operate required equipment safely and responsibly
  • Previous waste and recycling experience is an asset
