Intermediate Structural Designer

Wood is seeking an experienced Intermediate Structural Designer to join our Minerals & Metals team in Vancouver, BC. As a key member of our team, you will apply your extensive knowledge of structural design principles and technical CAD expertise to deliver high-quality results on complex projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop structural systems for heavy industrial projects, utilizing AVEVA E3D, AutoCAD, and Navisworks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design integrity and meet project requirements.
  • Develop and maintain technical knowledge of structural design principles, materials, and industry standards.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior designers and engineers.
  • Contribute to the development of design standards, procedures, and best practices.
Requirements:
  • Technical diploma with experience in civil/structural design.
  • Minimum 12 years of relevant design experience in a Structural Designer role within heavy industrial industries.
  • Minimum 6 years of recent design experience with AVEVA E3D, AutoCAD, and Navisworks.
  • Experience using AutoCAD Plant 3D and Advanced Steel, PDMS, and Bentley ProStructures is considered an asset.
  • Ability to work independently and in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
  • Comfortable using MS Office applications.
  • Field experience is considered an asset.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Self-learner, proactive personality, and eager to learn and grow.
  • Authorization to work lawfully in Canada without sponsorship from Wood.

This is a permanent position. Relocation assistance or living allowances will not be provided for this position.
