Job Title: Machine Operator

We are seeking a skilled Machine Operator to join our team in the Scarborough Region. As a Machine Operator, you will be responsible for operating Grade 3 machines, including the Fladder, Small Shear, Power Notcher, and Hand tools, to produce high-quality parts.

Responsibilities:
  • Read travelers, job packets, and follow verbal instructions to ascertain required materials, operation, and lot size.
  • Sort and stack parts received from the laser machine.
  • Set up and operate Grade 3 machines, including the Fladder, Small Shear, Power Notcher, and Hand tools.
  • Select the proper grit belt for producing specified part finish.
  • Remove sharp edges, burrs, scratches, and restore grain of parts using a handheld grinder.
  • Perform daily equipment pre-start checks and complete the checklist.
  • Use all personal protective equipment and operate safely to prevent near misses/hits and accidents.
  • Make adjustments to tooling to consistently produce good quality parts.
  • Verify that the quality and quantity of work performed meets Bobrick's standards.
  • Complete the MQRS form and prepare necessary documentation as required.
  • Advise the department supervisor when there is a shortage of materials and report all quality defects.
  • Maintain production process, including the self-balancing flow process, in an efficient and effective state.
  • Follow the lockout/tagout process in the event of machine breakdown and report to the department supervisor.
  • Maintain a healthy and safe environment by keeping all work areas clean, materials or parts positioned correctly, and following safe operating procedures at all times.
  • Maintain equipment in good functional order and ensure guards are in place.
  • Report hazards and unsafe conditions to the department supervisor immediately.
  • Report any concerns, problems in business or equipment to the department supervisor.
  • Continuously participate and recommend new method improvement ideas in writing to the department supervisor.
  • Participate and support projects, charter teams, and events to meet the company's stated goals and budget.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the department supervisor.
