About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Supervisor to join our team at Nova Scotia Health. As a key member of our Environmental Services team, you will be responsible for facilitating the day-to-day operations of our facilities, ensuring a clean and safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in supervisory experience, preferably in a healthcare setting, and be able to demonstrate excellent leadership and communication skills. You will work closely with our Assistant Manager to develop and implement standardized practices and initiatives to ensure operational excellence.

This is a permanent, full-time position working 75 hours bi-weekly, with a shift of 3:00pm-11:00pm. The successful candidate will be required to travel to various sites and have access to a reliable vehicle.

About You
  • Post-secondary education in a related field or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Two years of supervisory experience, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Experience working in a unionized environment is an asset.
  • Demonstrated experience in cleaning methods, practices, and techniques, as well as Occupational Health and Safety principles and WHMIS.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all management and staff, and to assess and anticipate problems/issues on individual day units.
  • Travel to other sites is required, and a reliable vehicle is necessary.
  • Competencies in other languages are an asset, with French preferred.
Compensation and Benefits

The successful candidate will be offered a competitive salary of $37.38 per hour, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
