About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Supervisor to join our team at Nova Scotia Health. As a key member of our Environmental Services team, you will be responsible for ensuring a clean and safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in supervisory experience, preferably in a healthcare setting. You will be responsible for facilitating the day-to-day operations of Environmental Services, Laundry Services, Security, and Porter Services. This will include collaborating with the Assistant Manager to develop and implement standardized practices and initiatives.

Travel to various sites will be required, and you must have access to a reliable vehicle. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team. You will also have experience working within a unionized environment and be familiar with Occupational Health and Safety principles and WHMIS.

About You
  • Post-secondary education in a related field or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.
  • Two years of supervisory experience is required, with experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
  • Experience working within a unionized environment is an asset.
  • Demonstrated experience in cleaning methods, practices, and techniques, as well as Occupational Health and Safety principles and WHMIS.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all management and staff, with a focus on leadership, motivation, and development skills.
  • Travel to other sites is required, and you must have access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Competencies in other languages are an asset, with French preferred.
Hours
  • Permanent, Full-time (100%) position; 75 hours bi-weekly.
  • This position will work a 3:00pm-11:00pm shift.
Compensation and Benefits

$37.38 Hourly.

Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
