Facilities Support Services Supervisor

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Supervisor to join our team at Nova Scotia Health and IWK Health. The successful candidate will be responsible for facilitating the day-to-day operations of Environmental Services, Laundry Services, Security and Porter Services, ensuring a clean and safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
The Supervisor will collaborate with the Assistant Manager in planning and developing standardized practices and initiatives to ensure their operationalization. This will involve working closely with various departments and teams to achieve our goals.
Travel to various sites will be required, and the successful candidate must have access to a reliable vehicle.
About YouWe are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in a related field or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.
- Two years of supervisory experience is required, with experience in a healthcare setting being preferred.
- Experience working in a unionized environment is an asset.
- Demonstrated experience in cleaning methods, practices, and techniques, as well as Occupational Health and Safety principles and WHMIS.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all management and staff, assess and anticipate problems/issues, and make prompt decisions and take action when required.
- Emphasis on leadership, motivational, and development skills, with a focus on innovation and self-motivation.
- Competencies in other languages are an asset, with French being preferred.
- Permanent, Full-time (100%) position; 75 hours bi-weekly.
- This position will work a 3:00pm-11:00pm shift.
The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary of $37.38 per hour.
They may also be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
