About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Building Code Consultant to join our team at CEP Forensic Inc. as a Jr. Project Consultant, Building Code. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring that our clients' projects meet the highest standards of building code compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design Review: Conduct thorough reviews of construction drawings to ensure compliance with building codes and regulations.
  • Code Compliance: Assist senior experts in ensuring that our clients' projects meet all relevant building codes and regulations.
  • Project Management: Manage project schedules, budgets, and delivery to ensure timely completion and client satisfaction.
  • Client Representation: Represent LRI Engineering in interactions with clients, Authorities Having Jurisdiction, and other stakeholders.
  • Site Visits and Meetings: Attend site visits and meetings with clients and Authorities Having Jurisdiction to ensure compliance and resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Prepare and submit project reports to clients, including any necessary documentation and certifications.
  • Business Development: Assist in preparing and managing project budgets and proposals, as well as pursuing business opportunities and contributing to marketing efforts.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as engineering or architecture, and 0-2 years of experience in design review and code compliance.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Strong knowledge of building codes and regulations, including the Ontario Building Code (Part 3), National Building Code (NBC), and Fire Codes (NFC & NFPA). Proficient in Microsoft Office and able to obtain government security clearance.
  • Personal Qualities: Analytical, time management, and organizational skills. Self-driven with a high level of initiative and resourcefulness. Versatile and able to manage varying workloads and competing priorities.
