About the Role

LRI Engineering Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Building Code Consultant to join our team in downtown Toronto. As a Building Code Consultant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our clients' projects meet the necessary building and fire codes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design Review: Conduct thorough design reviews to ensure compliance with building and fire codes.
  • Project Management: Manage project schedules, budgets, and delivery to ensure timely completion.
  • Client Representation: Represent LRI Engineering in interactions with clients, including site visits and meetings.
  • Code Compliance: Review construction drawings for code compliance and develop alternative solutions as needed.
  • Reporting: Write project reports for submission to clients.
  • Business Development: Assist in preparing and managing project budgets and proposals.
  • Client Expectations: Manage client expectations regarding quality, schedule, and responsiveness.
  • Marketing: Contribute to marketing efforts as required.
Requirements
  • Education: Relevant degree in engineering or architecture.
  • Skills: Analytical, time management, and organizational skills. Self-driven with a high level of initiative and resourcefulness.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with Ontario Building Code (Part 3), National Building Code (NBC), and Fire Codes (NFC & NFPA).
  • Software: Proficient with Microsoft Office.
