Shift Schedule: 7am to 7pm (Rotational)
The starting wage is $43.50, with an additional $1 for night shifts worked between 7pm and 7am.
Successful candidates will engage in continental shifts, alternating between day and night schedules. Benefits become available after 90 days of employment, including a standard package with dental, healthcare, prescription drugs, and vision care.
Employees are entitled to 2 weeks of vacation after one year of service, with flexibility for pre-planned time off subject to management approval based on coverage needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Comply with all site and departmental safety protocols, ensuring that all personnel in the vicinity adhere to the same standards.
- Apply technical expertise to perform scheduled maintenance and respond to urgent repair needs.
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain mechanical and industrial equipment.
- Conduct routine preventive maintenance on all machinery.
- Actively engage in the planning process to ensure timely completion of tasks with appropriate resources.
- Carry out scheduled work as directed by planners, including preventive maintenance, inspections, and rounds.
- Ensure that all maintenance activities are documented according to best practices, including preparation for historical records, completion status, critiques, and failure analyses.
- Record all maintenance tasks (both scheduled and unscheduled) and their progress in the shift logbook and work order systems.
- Utilize computerized maintenance management tools to perform tasks efficiently.
- Participate in root cause analysis and problem-solving initiatives within the designated area.
- Complete shift assessments to evaluate overall process health and document findings.
- Collaborate effectively with other technical and operational personnel.
- Work closely with the Maintenance Coordinator and other maintenance leaders for guidance and direction.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Willingness to work any shift, including nights.
- Possession of a 433A Industrial Mechanic Millwright License.
- Completion of an apprenticeship is highly preferred.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Ability to read and interpret technical blueprints.
- Proven knowledge of and adherence to safety policies and procedures.
- Able to thrive in a fast-paced production environment with multiple priorities.
- High attention to detail, precision, and follow-through.
- A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in food manufacturing.
Additional Requirements:
- Proficient troubleshooting skills for electrical and mechanical issues.
- Understanding of electrical circuitry.
- Familiarity with PLCs, maintenance shop machinery, and electronics.
- Knowledge of building wiring and CSA codes applicable to industrial settings.
- Proficient in reading, writing, and communicating in English.
- Capability to lift and maneuver heavy machinery.
- Able to work at heights, in varying temperatures, and within Occupational Health & Safety guidelines.
- Possession of an Industrial Electrician license.
- A minimum of 3 years of local electrician experience in a Canadian food manufacturing environment.
