Position Overview:

Our client, a prominent general contractor, is seeking a Superintendent to join their civil and infrastructure division. Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage construction projects in accordance with contract specifications and industry standards.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations across all teams, including subcontractors.
  • Maintain comprehensive daily reports, including safety documentation and maintenance logs.
  • Enforce project safety and quality control policies consistently.
  • Coordinate daily activities of construction crews, equipment, materials, and subcontractors while fostering positive relationships with all stakeholders.
  • Analyze project specifications and drawings to assist in developing construction plans and schedules.
  • Monitor project sites to ensure adherence to design standards and best practices.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers to resolve design conflicts and recommend solutions.
  • Plan and adjust schedules with Project Managers to ensure adequate resources are available.
  • Participate in project meetings to track progress and address any issues.
  • Review cost reports with Project Managers to ensure budget compliance and address discrepancies.
  • Take on additional tasks as assigned by senior management.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Engineering (Civil preferred) or Construction Management with relevant civil experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years in civil construction.
  • Strong passion for the construction industry.
  • Valid driver's license in British Columbia.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe.
  • Strong critical thinking and attention to detail.
  • Effective time management and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
