About the Role:

Our client, a prominent general contractor, is seeking a dedicated Superintendent to enhance their civil and infrastructure division.

This position is integral to a team that focuses on various projects including sewers, watermains, transportation, dry utilities, shoring, road reconstruction, bridges, concrete forming, marine works, environmental remediation, and treatment facilities.

As part of a strategic expansion, our client is building a robust team in Vancouver.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage construction projects in strict alignment with contract specifications and industry standards.
  • Ensure safety compliance across all labor forces, including subcontractors.
  • Enforce all project safety and quality-control protocols.
  • Coordinate daily activities of construction crews, equipment, material supply, and subcontractors.
  • Analyze project specifications and drawings to develop comprehensive construction plans and schedules.
  • Monitor project sites to ensure adherence to owner’s standards and best practices.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers and Coordinators to resolve design challenges and implement effective solutions.
  • Attend and occasionally lead project meetings to support project objectives.
  • Review cost reports with the Project Manager to ensure budget compliance and address discrepancies.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned by the Construction Manager or Senior Management.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Engineering (Civil preferred) or Construction Management with relevant civil experience.
  • Approximately 5+ years of experience in civil construction.
  • Valid driver's license in British Columbia.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe.
  • Strong command of the English language, both written and verbal, with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional planning and organizational abilities, capable of multitasking and prioritizing effectively.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
