About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Labour Relations Advisor to join our team at Transat. As a key member of our HR department, you will be responsible for providing expert advice and support on labour relations matters, ensuring a harmonious working environment and maintaining positive relationships with employees, managers, and union representatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance and support to first-level managers and the HR team on labour relations matters;
  • Negotiate and interpret collective agreements, letters of understanding, and other negotiated agreements;
  • Advise on the application of collective agreements, employment terminations, disciplinary measures, and other labour-related issues;
  • Update and maintain absenteeism files;
  • Conduct legislative research and provide recommendations;
  • Participate in and lead labour relations committees;
  • Facilitate grievance meetings and provide support to managers on labour relations matters;
  • Represent the employer in administrative tribunals and work closely with legal representatives in conciliation, mediation, and arbitration hearings;
  • Prepare various files, including grievances, disciplinary meetings, arbitrations, and negotiation of collective agreements.

Requirements

  • University diploma in Labour Relations or equivalent;
  • Minimum 6-8 years of experience as a Labour Relations Advisor or similar title;
  • Bilingualism (French and English) essential;
  • Knowledge of the Canada Labour Code an asset;
  • Leadership and proactive skills;
  • Client-oriented and strong ability to influence others and communicate effectively;
  • Team spirit and creative approach.
