About the Role

As an Aboriginal Head Start Advisor, you will provide advanced-level expertise to First Nations communities, FNHA regional teams, and external partners in the planning and delivery of early child learning and development programs and actions. You will develop resources and create networks of support to build community capacity and expertise that can support First Nations families and their communities to create the conditions that will give First Nations children the best start in life.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have/be:

  • Three (3) years of experience delivering Aboriginal Head Start on Reserve Programs and/or licensed child care programs, including managing staff and budgets; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Early Child Education Certification

You may have:

  • Recent, relevant experience in program planning and development in the areas of early child learning and development
  • Experience in assessing community needs/capacity and finding solutions in collaboration with communities and other partners
  • Experience working with First Nations communities or organizations on issues related to early child learning and development
  • Experience in the development of strategies relating to early child learning and development
  • Experience collaborating with relevant partners and working on teams to achieve common goals and objectives
