About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Attendant to join our team at the Nova Scotia SPCA. As a key member of our animal care team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of the animals in our care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Animal Care: Prepare and serve food and water to animals, clean and disinfect enclosures, and assist with animal handling and medical procedures.
  • Facility Maintenance: Maintain the cleanliness and organization of animal enclosures, kennels, and other areas of the facility.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service to the public, responding to inquiries and providing information about our services and animals available for adoption.
  • Teamwork: Collaborate with other staff members to achieve team goals and objectives.
Requirements
  • Education: Completion of a veterinary assistant course or equivalent experience.
  • Work Experience: 1-6 months of experience in animal care or a related field.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs), stand for extended periods, and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Language: Fluency in English.
