Animal Care Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Kennel Attendant at the Nova Scotia SPCA. As a key member of our animal care team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of the animals in our care.
Responsibilities:- Prepare and serve food and water to animals
- Clean and disinfect animal enclosures, including cages, pens, and kennels
- Assist with animal vaccinations and medical treatments
- Monitor animal behavior and report any concerns to management
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous experience working with animals an asset
- Ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs) and stand for extended periods
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
This is a part-time position, with hours varying depending on the needs of the shelter. The successful candidate must be able to work independently and as part of a team, and be available to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays.
