Infection Prevention and Control Quality Specialist

A Bachelor's degree in a pertinent health science field such as Medical Laboratory Sciences, Clinical Microbiology, Epidemiology, Pathology, or a similar discipline.
A minimum of three years of recent relevant acute care clinical experience, including at least one year of direct involvement with infection control protocols, policies, and initiatives, alongside the facilitation of workgroups and quality enhancement projects.
Understanding of the connections between Acute Care, Long-Term Care, Community Health, and Public Health Resources within the healthcare delivery framework.
Proficient knowledge in program design, execution, and performance metrics.
Certification from an IPAC Canada-recognized infection control program or proof of Certification in Infection Control (CIC).
A valid Class 5 driver's license.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES- Exceptional communication, writing, presentation, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- In-depth knowledge and proven success in project management methodologies.
- Demonstrated capability to monitor, coordinate, and resolve issues impacting proposed action plans.
- Proven proficiency in drafting, analyzing, and refining project plans and proposals with precision and consistency.
- Extensive understanding of contemporary clinical practices and methodologies.
- Ability to evaluate, organize, and analyze information effectively.
- Demonstrated skill in successfully introducing, implementing, and assessing new policies and procedures.
- Capacity to work autonomously or collaboratively within a team.
- Ability to prioritize and organize tasks efficiently.
- Competence in operating relevant equipment, including software applications.
- Skills in conflict resolution.
- Physical capability to fulfill the responsibilities of the position.
