QUALIFICATIONS

A Bachelor's degree in Nursing or a related healthcare field and five years of related experience are required. Knowledge of quality improvement, long-term care, and/or infection prevention and control is preferred. Relevant certification, such as Gerontology Nursing Certificate (GNC) or equivalent, Quality Improvement or Change management certificate, is also preferred.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives and develop strategies to enhance patient care.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to identify areas for improvement and implement changes.
  • Develop and maintain quality improvement plans and reports.
  • Provide coaching and training to staff on quality improvement principles and practices.
  • Conduct audits and assessments to ensure compliance with quality standards.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • Leadership skills and highly developed interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Teaching skills using a coaching approach.
  • Knowledge of adult education and learning principles.
  • Organizational skills and ability to work under time constraints and prioritize workload effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions guided by standards of practice, Public Health and WorkSafeBC regulation, and health authority policies and procedures.
  • Comprehensive understanding of healthcare technology and work processes.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats.
  • Investigative, analytical, and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to teach in both individual and large group settings.
  • Ability to interact with others effectively, often in highly charged emotional states.
  • Ability to maintain confidences of personal employee health files and matters.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
  • Ability to operate a PC utilizing MS Office software applications and databases.
  • Physical ability to carry out the position.
  • Valid BC Driver's License.
