Knowledge of quality improvement, long-term care, and/or infection prevention and control is preferred. Relevant certification, such as Gerontology Nursing Certificate (GNC) or equivalent, Quality Improvement or Change management certificate, is also preferred.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Lead quality improvement initiatives and develop strategies to enhance patient care.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to identify areas for improvement and implement changes.
- Develop and maintain quality improvement plans and reports.
- Provide coaching and training to staff on quality improvement principles and practices.
- Conduct audits and assessments to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Leadership skills and highly developed interpersonal and communication skills.
- Teaching skills using a coaching approach.
- Knowledge of adult education and learning principles.
- Organizational skills and ability to work under time constraints and prioritize workload effectively.
- Ability to work independently and make decisions guided by standards of practice, Public Health and WorkSafeBC regulation, and health authority policies and procedures.
- Comprehensive understanding of healthcare technology and work processes.
- Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats.
- Investigative, analytical, and creative problem-solving skills.
- Ability to teach in both individual and large group settings.
- Ability to interact with others effectively, often in highly charged emotional states.
