We are currently looking for a Market Fundamentals Analyst to become a part of ARC's Financial Risk Management division. This team is responsible for developing insights into commodity market fundamentals and managing ARC's hedging strategies on a daily basis. The ideal candidate will significantly contribute to formulating and disseminating ARC's commodity price forecasts, which support commercial and risk management decisions throughout the organization. Collaboration with various departments, including Marketing, Treasury, Investor Relations, Financial Reporting, and Planning, is essential for the team's success.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and maintain analytical models that assess global and regional energy supply and demand dynamics. Continuously monitor, evaluate, and forecast changes to these balances. Analyze research from external sources to enhance internally developed perspectives. Maintain awareness of the differing assumptions and viewpoints among third-party analyses of commodity prices. Create a market perspective that identifies risks and opportunities related to ARC's commodity price exposures. Effectively communicate this outlook to various internal stakeholders, including treasury, marketing, investor relations, and senior management. Utilize market insights to provide recommendations for ARC's hedging strategies, including new positions or adjustments to existing ones. Assist in executing ARC's hedging initiatives, ensuring competitive pricing from counterparties and compliance with internal controls. Collaborate in preparing market summary reports for weekly, monthly, and quarterly meetings, as well as specialized reports based on ARC-specific or broader market developments. Leverage existing relationships and cultivate an industry network to enhance ARC's corporate understanding of market fundamentals and trends.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
A minimum of 3 years of experience in a related field, with direct exposure to energy commodity markets. A bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or Economics is preferred; progress towards a CFA designation is advantageous. A genuine interest in and strong comprehension of the fundamental factors influencing commodity prices. Experience in crude oil, condensate, or NGL markets is a plus. Excellent financial and analytical skills, with a solid understanding of derivatives pricing and hedging mechanisms. Proven ability to convey complex research and data in clear, concise presentations for diverse audiences, from peers to executive leadership. Comfortable making recommendations and defending positions. Self-driven, capable of conducting research on challenging information, and distilling findings into succinct conclusions. Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines with minimal oversight. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. Strong familiarity with Bloomberg, Refinitiv, InstaNext, or other ETRM software is beneficial.We appreciate your interest in ARC Resources Ltd.
