Job Title: Communications Coordinator

**Job Summary:**

The Kativik Regional Government (KRG) is seeking a dynamic and experienced Communications Coordinator to lead communications activities, including media relations, website management, and internal communications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Implement Communications Strategies: Develop and implement communications plans to achieve the KRG's objectives, including media relations, website management, and internal communications.
  • Media Relations: Establish and maintain relationships with journalists, bloggers, and opinion leaders to promote the KRG's message and interests.
  • Website Management: Coordinate the development and maintenance of the KRG's website and employee intranet, including content creation and management.
  • Internal Communications: Develop and implement internal communications plans to keep employees informed and engaged.
  • Supervise Staff: Supervise and coordinate the activities of the Communications Department staff, including planning, budgeting, and performance management.
  • Coordinate Events: Coordinate internal and public events, including logistics, marketing, and media relations.
  • Translation Services: Supervise translation services and the preparation of translated documentation for KRG Council meetings and internal departmental clients.
  • Other Related Tasks: Carry out other related tasks as required to support the KRG's communications objectives.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Communications or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of relevant work experience in public relations, including the management and supervision of staff.
  • Leadership Skills: Solid leadership skills and demonstrated resourcefulness.
  • Language Skills: Written and oral working knowledge of at least two (2) of the following languages: Inuktitut, English, and French.

The successful candidate will work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, with a focus on delivering high-quality communications services to support the KRG's objectives.

Benefits:

  • Salary: Minimum $85,598/year; maximum $117,698/year based on 35 hours/week.
  • Benefits Package: Comprehensive benefits package, including cost of living differential, food allowance, annual leave trips, pension plan, group insurance, and vacation time.
