Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team of dedicated professionals. The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing comprehensive rehabilitation services to patients with neurological conditions within our acute and complex medical programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team, including physiotherapists, occupational therapy assistants, and other healthcare professionals, to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of neurological patients to identify their strengths, limitations, and rehabilitation needs.
  • Design and deliver evidence-based treatment programs that address cognitive, perceptual, motor, and functional impairments.
  • Utilize a range of therapeutic techniques and modalities to promote patient recovery and independence.
  • Monitor patient progress, document outcomes, and adjust treatment plans as needed.
  • Provide education and support to patients, families, and caregivers regarding rehabilitation strategies and home exercise programs.
Qualifications
  • Registered with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario.
  • Membership in the Canadian Occupational Therapy Association or Ontario Society of Occupational Therapists is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience working with patients who have neurological conditions.
  • Expertise in cognitive/perceptual assessment and treatment techniques.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in an acute inpatient setting, including Geriatrics and acute medical units.
  • Strong knowledge of cognitive assessments and remediation strategies.
  • Familiarity with outcome measures used in rehabilitation settings.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management abilities.
